Step 1 - Visit MetaMask.io
MetaMask is a digital wallet that allows you to interact with blockchain apps directly in your browser
Click Download and install the MetaMask Chrome extension
Step 2 - Install MetaMask Chrome Extension
This makes it quick and easy to make web3 crypto transaction in your browser.
Follow the prompts to add the extension to your browser.
Once installed, click the MetaMask icon in your toolbar to open it.
Step 3 - Create new Wallet
On the first screen - select Create a new Wallet
Step 4 - Create a Password
Create a unique and secure password for your wallet on this browser.
We recommend storing this password in a secure password manager such as 1Password.
Step 5 - Secure your wallet
When prompted, click Secure my wallet. This will generate a secret recovery phrase that will be needed to use this wallet again in the future.
Step 6 - Store your Secret Recovery Phrase
Click Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase to see your 12 word secret.
As with your password, we recommend storing this in a secure password manager such as 1Password. Without it you will not be able to access your wallet in the future, or any of the cryptocurrency assets you hold.
Congratulations! You have now successfully created your web3 wallet in MetaMask
You can now use your wallet to buy/sell cryptocurrencies securely online.
